Favorite Types of Music:
I like a little bit of everything! One minute I'm hooked on the new Slipknot song, and the next I'm totally into the new Brad Paisley album. If I can recognize talent in somebody's work I'm listening.
My inspiration to become a musician:
My grandma used to sit me down in front of the TV to watch the big band on the Lawrence Welk Show when I was a baby, you know, the guy who did the song "Tiny Bubbles"? I know sounds goofy right? But all those instruments had an impact on me. I wanted to learn as many of them as I could before my time here is finished! So, I'm up to 9 or 10 right now, but really focusing on the guitar and how the instrumental and vocal parts of me and the rest of the guys in the band work together. It really is amazing to find guys that work together like this.
CDs in my iPod right now:
I'm something of a computer geek, so instead of an iPod, I actually built my own online Flash jukebox. There are over 20,000 songs in there, and mostly hand-picked by me (though if somebody requests something and I have it, I'll also throw it in the mix). I LOVE music, of all kinds. But, I guess the point of the question was, 'what do you listen to regularly?' So, I'd have to say lately, lots of Sevendust (who I saw in concert recently at the House of Blues in Orlando, and were really great), Keith Urban's 'Only You Can Love Me This Way' (I told you I listen to everything!), Rascal Flatts' 'What Hurts The Most', since it's one of our new cover songs, and some other stuff I'm not proud of [chuckles]!
2009-10-12 : NEW GEAR UPDATE:
Here is my updated current stable of guitars.
The newest edition to the family - my 2009 Gibson Les Paul Robot (pictured to the right). This one is a welcome addition since all I have to do (literally) is pop out the bottom knob, strum all the strings, and it TUNES ITSELF! I almost flipped the first time I did it - the tuning pegs at the top move by themselves. Anyway, I'll be playing it this weekend at the Boot Hill Saloon in Ormond. Come check it out!
Fender Stratocaster with a Koa wood finish (rare wood with a great sound)
The Ibanez JS20 Joe Satriani Anniversary Edition
My Acoustic guitar - a Yamaha APX700 -- the only Yamaha I've ever liked the sound and feel of. (Thomas Buckner seems to like playing on it at the WB practice house as well!)<
